 Being the first airline operated in the course of modern enterprise in China, Xiamen Airlines Co. Ltd was established on 25th July, 1984 jointly by Civil Aviation Administration of China and Fujian Provincial Government. The shareholders of Xiamen Airlines are China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., Xiamen C & D Corporation Limited and Jizhong Energy Resources Co., Ltd. with 51%, 34% and 15% shares respectively. The IATA designator of Xiamen Airlines is “MF”, and the corporate logo is “Soaring Egret in the Blue Sky”.

As the only Chinese airline featuring an all-Boeing fleet, Xiamen Airlines has a fleet of 123 aircraft with a total of 20,555 seats, and an average airplane service age of 5.61 years, as of September, 2015. Xiamen Airlines operates more than 220 domestic routes, and almost 50 international and regional routes, and flies more than 3,200 flights each week. With bases in Xiamen, Fuzhou and Hangzhou, Xiamen Airline's flight network covers major cities in China and extends to Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries. Xiamen Airlines has six branches in Fuzhou, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Nanchang, Beijing, and Hunan, one operation base in Quanzhou, 48 domestic and international business departments and offices and owns Hebei Airlines as its subsidiary. With total assets exceeding RMB 40 billion and net assets of RMB 15 billion, Xiamen Airlines is the only Chinese civil airline that has maintained profitability for 28 consecutive years.

As of December 31, 2014, Xiamen Airlines had accumulated 3.016 million safe flight hours, realized 347 consecutive months of flight safety and delivered 238 consecutive months of air defense security. Facing an extremely complicated external situation and difficult development tasks in 2014, Xiamen Airlines upheld the spirit of the 3rd and 4th Plenary Sessions of the 18th CPC Central Committee, and the national civil aviation working meeting, followed development trends, adhered to the principle of steady development, continuously explored new business fields, improved corporate capabilities, carried out reforms and resolved difficulties. Xiamen Airlines reported 385,000 safe flight hours, total freight volume of 2.77 billion ton-kilometers, 20.356 million passengers, and carried 209,000 tons cargo and mail traffic. Over the last year the company has made outstanding achievements with operating revenue of RMB 18.87 billion and net profit of RMB 1.24 billion.

In 2015, Xiamen Airlines plans to expand its fleet to more than 136 aircraft, doubling its transport capacity, volume and operating turnover and to extend its flight network to every corner of the world as an emerging force in the global aviation market.
